Homeschooling is more than just teaching from books. Yes, Reading, Writing and Arithmetic are important, but so is knowing how to clean and cook. It's not just for girls. Both my older boys love to help cook. And they do a pretty tasty job at it too. Trevor and Patrick are responsible for keeping their rooms clean, making their beds, folding their own laundry and doing their monthly chore ( floors or dishes).
Bring joy to your servant, Lord, for I put my trust in you. Psalm 86:4.

Day 7 A Glimpse of Phillip
A game of Candyland with Patrick during breakfast.
Helping Mommy change the sheets.
The correct way to put a pillow case on is to put it on yourself first, then take it off and put a pillow in it.
Popcorn snack and an unfair dealing of Spiderman Go Fish! He gave me 4 cards and kept he rest for himself. Needless to say, I lost before the game even started.
I wonder what's in this package....
Bedtime story with a piece of cheese.

Day 6 Staying Organized
Staying organized. That's not an easy task with having 4 kids, especially when your children misplace almost everything.
I had purchased 3 of these drawer carts sometime last year, one for each child. I have another year or two before I need one for Annabelle; unless I find another way to stay organized.
The idea behind having a drawer cart with labels was to incorporate the workbox system for our school work. Since most all of our school work is done on the computer, these carts contain their notebooks and any papers/lapbooks they are working on.
The labels are removable and can be attached to their "Look what I did today" sheets.

Day 5 Pinterest...
Pinterest. It is an overwhelming source of ideas and information on just about any topic you can think of. It is a great tool to use to find extra activities to reinforce what I'm teaching, different teaching styles, lots of printables and so much more. My homeschool Pinterest board has 462 pins. Now, have I used all 462 pins? Nope. Am I? Probably not.

Day 4 The Daily Struggle
Homeschooling is hard. Maybe not so much the actual teaching that is involved, but the whole balancing of school and life. The everyday chores of cleaning, cooking, laundry, errands. It all has to get done. Some days we get everything done and other days I consider it a success if we get just one thing done.
Last night at my Tastefully Simple party, I shared with my guests that I'm a stay at home mom of four kids. "Wow, you have 4 kids." was the response. When I continued to share that I homeschool my children, a woman commented "You're a Proverbs 31 woman!" I told her that my desire is to be a Proverbs 31 woman, but it is a daily struggle. I continue to pray that God will mold me to be a woman after his heart, a Proverbs 31 woman/wife/mom.
